Beginning with a 7,000 square-foot state-of-the-art eco-friendly location in Preston Center, for Valentine’s Day this year if a diamond is on your list Diamond Doctor specializes in wholesale loose diamonds that are conflict free too. That’s based upon personal knowledge and written guarantees provided by the suppliers of their diamonds.

“Diamond Doctor is an international network of diamond miners, cutters and jewelry craftsmen, all committed to supplying you with the best value for money diamonds or diamond jewelry available in the United States,” says Joel Berman, Diamond Doctor Diamond Specialist.

David Blank, president of Diamond Doctor

Not a retail store, Diamond Doctor are diamond merchants who buy directly from the mines, through agents in South Africa, Russia and Canada. The loose stones are then “cut” by their own craftsmen in Israel and made available to both wholesalers and the public.

“You cannot buy a diamond closer to its source than on DiamondDoctor.com, you really can’t,” Berman says.

When creating a new showroom for their diamonds, the folks at Diamond Doctor decided to be the first diamond facility in the area to use green building construction featuring custom LED lighting throughout the showroom. Not only an energy saving alternative, but the LED light is also brighter, lighter and ideal for showing diamonds.

“We are so proud to open our doors after more than a year of planning and construction,” says President of Diamond Doctor, David Blank. “I purposely built our new facility to be among the best stores in the country, with a focus on the jewelry, yet I wanted to maintain an environment that is extremely comfortable and welcoming for our clients.”

Diamond Doctor also used recycled bricks in the construction of their new showroom, they shred all their documents and their restrooms have the latest technological advances. While Joel notes that it really wasn’t more expensive to build from an eco-friendly standpoint he does add “it was a challenge in the sense that it was a learning experience for us and the building vendors to get the green process correct.”

Diamond Doctor is also committed to helping the environment in other ways too and they regularly donate money to various causes as well as being supporters of the Chrystal Charity Ball and the Cattle Baron’s Ball.

“Growing up in South Africa and knowing what the meaning of water and food means to people that have so little was a great inspiration to helping the planet become a better place,” Berman says. “We believe that our customers deserve to know everything about diamonds before they make a decision to purchase [and] we like customers to shop around before they come to us so they know that we are a cut above anyone else. We display all our diamonds with the price certification and specifications in our jewelry cases so the customer has a choice and they don’t have a pushy salesman trying to get them to buy something they do not want. We adhere strictly to the principles set out by the United Nations in the way we purchase diamonds and investigate all sources thoroughly before we do business with them,” Berman concludes.

Wondering how to pick the perfect diamond and make sure it comes with an eco-friendly background? Here are a few tips from Diamond Doctor -

• Choose a diamond that suits your budget and make sure that you have a full diamond education and at least eight to 10 diamonds to choose from before you decide.

• If the person you are dealing with does not have the diamond on hand to show you do not purchase it because they likely do not own the diamond they are selling you.

• All Diamond Doctor diamonds have been purchased from legitimate sources not involved with conflict and in compliance with United Nations resolutions, make sure the next diamond you buy has a conflict-free guarantee.
