Symposium will explore the impact of the urban heat island effect in North Texas on our health, economy and quality of life and its implications for regional planning. Speakers include Dr. Brian Stone, director of the Urban Climate Change Lab at Georgia Institute of Technology, Dr, Jason Vargo with the Global Health Institute at the University of Wisconsin and Maria Koetter, Director of Sustainability with the city of Louisville, KY.

Issues related to urbanization and health

Urban Heat Island mitigation options

Highlight actions already being understaken in the region.
