Presenter: Sharon Wilson, Gulf Region Organizer, EARTHWORKS Oil & Gas Accountability Project

Sharon is an expert — perhaps THE expert — on what is happening in the oil and gas fields of Texas and beyond. Among other things, she’s a Certified Optical Gas Imaging Thermographer.

She will explain what that designation means and what the continuing and even expanding use of fracking has to do with both our hunger for energy and the profits oil and gas companies derive from that hunger.

Join us as we kick off a summer-full of programs on the environment. On Aug. 5, we will host Rita Beving, North Texas Outreach Coordinator for Clean Water Action and the Clean Water Fund. On Sept. 2, to kick-start Labor Day Weekend, we will welcome Dr. Al Armendariz, who heads the Beyond Coal initiative for the Lone Star Sierra Club.
