Topic: "The new Rain Catcher Garden at Midway Hills Christian Church & Water Conservation Techniques."

Presenter: Elizabeth Wilkinson, Certified Dallas County Master Gardener with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.

In spite of our incredibly rainy spring, and very full lakes, we still need to be conscious of our water usage. The Metroplex is one of the fastest growing areas in America, and with two or three years of drought, we could find ourselves under tight water restrictions again. Learn how to be proactive and save water now .. before it becomes another crisis!

Midway Hills Christian Church is striving to practice environmental stewardship as they rennovate their building and grounds. Less water usage lowers their water bill and remarkably, saves on energy! (The water company has to pay for the electricity to pump and process that water!) Learn what you can do at home to reduce water usage. Our meeting will include a "field trip" outside the church for an up-close view and tour of the gardens on the church grounds.

Elizabeth is very knowledgeable about the gardens and rainwater collection systems. She designed them for the church!
