Celebrate the holiday season in the same style that Texas families did 150 years ago. Visitors can enjoy a tour of the historic Minor-Porter Log House (built in the 1860s), make a corn husk doll or ornament, learn how to churn butter, create a hand-dipped candle and enjoy traditional holiday music. A cup of hot cider and some Dutch oven gingerbread help fill out the celebration. Visitors are welcome to participate in the come-and-go event at their own pace. Knowledgeable volunteers will help guide visitors through the historic structures and grounds. There is no additional fee for this activity beyond the regular LLELA gate admission of $5 per vehicle.
