Want to improve your outdoor skills for camping and hiking? Want to hike beyond the paved trails of the Trinity River or River Legacy Park with confidence? Spend the second Saturday of August with the Sierra Club to improve your outdoor skills by attending our Camping 101 class. There, our experienced and patient Sierra Club outings leaders will conduct the Camping 101 class, demonstrate equipment, answer questions and provide advice on trip planning. Topics to be covered include selection and care of tents, back packs and day packs, stoves, hiking boots, clothing, sleeping bags, sleeping pads as well as meal and trip planning. Class fee is $15 per person to be prepaid by Aug. 10. 

Class size limited to 20 persons and participants must preregister by Aug. 8 by contacting Claudia Blalock. You MUST contact Claudia for official registration. Details about the class including directions will be provided when you contact Claudia. A minimum of 5 persons is needed to hold the class.
