Dallas resident Scot Miller will give a multimedia presentation about creating the photographs for Emerson, Muir, Thoreau: A Photographic Trilogy of American Wildness, the first book to visually connect the philosophies of Ralph Waldo Emerson, John Muir and Henry David Thoreau. He will emphasize the interconnectedness of these three writers/philosophers/activists and the role that their intertwined orbits played in America's environmental coming of age. The Collector's Edition book marries passages from each man's selected work with 69 of Scot's never-before-published photographs that reflect the subject matter. For Emerson, that work is Nature. For Muir, it is The American Forests. For Thoreau, it is Walking. The photographs span our country from coast to coast, including one from the Great Trinity Forest in Dallas.

Scot Miller is an award-winning photographer whose work has formed the basis of numerous books. He is a contributor to the Moment in Nature videos, broadcast nationally on Emmy Award-winning CBS Sunday Morning. Scot's photographic and video collaborations include work with Yosemite Conservancy, the Walden Woods Project and the Harvard Museum of Natural History, where his Thoreau's Maine Woods: A Journey in Photographs was on exhibit from November, 2013, through February, 2015.

Scot will have signed copies of several of his books for sale. Scot and his wife, Marilyn own and operate the Sun to Moon Gallery, a fine-art photography gallery.
