Over the past 5 years, nearly 3,000 volunteers have come together to clean up Fish Creek, Fish Creek Linear Trail, our community and environment by removing over 65,800 pounds of trash.

Liz McDaniel, also known as “Birdwoman” will tell stories about the birds we know so well, such as the woodpecker, the Cardinal and the Crow. Listen to her play on her cedar flute and tell the story of how the first flute came to the people.

Vote for your favorite green volunteers and leaders in North Texas. The top three finalists will be judged by a panel. Winners will be announced at the Green Source DFW Sustainable Leadership Awards on Nov. 3 at the Dallas Arboretum. 

The 5th annual National Zero Waste Business Conference, “Tuning in to Zero Waste,” Wednesday, June 1 through Saturday, June 4 in Austin, TX is the premier event for waste reduction at businesses and beyond. The event is conducted by the U.S. Zero Waste Business Council (www.uszwbc.org) in partnership with local host/title sponsor Austin Resource Recovery in a city known for great music and progressive zero waste actions.

Earth Day Texas (formerly, Earth Day Dallas) is an annual, outdoor festival seeking to elevate environmental awareness and influence the way Texans think, live and work. The family-friendly and free-admission event allows leaders in the corporate, academic and non-profit worlds to unite and show Texans how green lifestyle choices can lower their cost of living, improve their health, and help save the environment.

The heart of the festival is the Eco Expo where exhibitors will use their presence to promote their achievements as green leaders, and teach attendees how to take environmentally responsible action by better utilizing available resources, switching to eco-friendly products, or joining their organizations.
