Perot Museum: Maya - Hidden Worlds Revealed - Dallas
The exhibition brings together more than 200 authentic artifacts and immersive environments to explore the astonishing accomplishments of one of the most powerful indigenous Mesoamerican civilizations, that still has millions of living descendants today. Visitors will learn how the Maya built towering temples and created an intricate calendar system while discovering what archaeologists have uncovered about the once-hidden ancient Maya, and the unresolved questions about why these ancient cities were abandoned. Through hands-on activity stations, guests can decipher hieroglyphs, learn cultural and architectural techniques, and explore an underworld cave, ancient burial site, mural room and more. The bilingual exhibition, presented in English and Spanish, requires a surcharge for members and non-members.
Good Faith Impact: Community Solar Installation Training - Dallas
Good Faith Impact, a Dallas-based non-profit organization, will host a five day “Community Solar Installation Training.” The session is intended for entry level workers, interested in launching a career in the growing solar photovoltaic industry.
Participants from the local community who complete this course will receive certificates of completion, an OSHA-10 certificate, and an introduction to local employers.

Fort Worth Audubon Society: Extreme Birder Author Lynn Barber - Fort Worth
Get inspired-spend an evening with the FWAS and Lynn Barber, extreme birder, artist, photographer, all around renaissance woman; and author of Extreme Birder: One Woman’s Big Year and Birds in Trouble. Ms. Barber will talk about her birding travels and adventures around Alaska during her 2016 Alaskan big year; including slides of over 300 species of birds seen around the Anchorage, Homer, and Kenai areas; Dutch Harbor, Adak, the Pribilofs, Central Alaska, and Barrow. Ms. Barber, a past president of the Fort Worth Audubon Society and Texas Ornithological Society has also done big years in Texas (2005), South Dakota (2012); and the ABA area (2008).
