Perot Museum: Maya - Hidden Worlds Revealed - Dallas
The exhibition brings together more than 200 authentic artifacts and immersive environments to explore the astonishing accomplishments of one of the most powerful indigenous Mesoamerican civilizations, that still has millions of living descendants today. Visitors will learn how the Maya built towering temples and created an intricate calendar system while discovering what archaeologists have uncovered about the once-hidden ancient Maya, and the unresolved questions about why these ancient cities were abandoned. Through hands-on activity stations, guests can decipher hieroglyphs, learn cultural and architectural techniques, and explore an underworld cave, ancient burial site, mural room and more. The bilingual exhibition, presented in English and Spanish, requires a surcharge for members and non-members.
Trinity Commons Foundation & City of Dallas: All Out Trinity Festival - Dallas
With one of a kind events including the 13th annual Trinity River Levee Run, the largest outdoor yoga class in Texas (Yoga on the Bridge), and the largest urban gravel bike ride in the U.S. (Gravelthon! Dallas). All Out Trinity attracts a broad group of participants and spectators, from elite athletes to fun-loving families. People from all ages and walks of life participate in this annual event.
All Out Trinity starts with the popular Trinity River Levee Run; kicked off by the Glenn Carter Public Safety Challenge which pits the two city departments, Dallas Police and Dallas Fire and Rescue, against one another in friendly competition for the Glenn Carter Safety Challenge trophy. Named in honor of one of the founders of the Trinity River Levee Run.
