Our weekly Green Roundup will let you know about deals going on at businesses in our green business directory (check it out if you haven't already). We'll also be detailing volunteer opportunities with local non-profits. It's one more way we're hoping to support and shine a light on the work of sustainable entrpreneurs and green businesses in the DFW area. This week -

Texas Discovery Gardens' Director of Horticulture Randy Johnson is hosting a composting workshow this Saturday, April 14 from 10am to Noon. Cost for non-members is $25 and if you're looking to prepare your Summer garden it's a must-not-miss event at the always gorgeous Texas Discovery Gardens. If you've not heard of Randy Johnson he's an amazing guy who is probably one of, if not the, best Horticulturalists in the city. You can see the details in our event listing

Elsewhere around town you'll have a chance to sample some grub from the many new and delicious food
trucks rolling around town as part of the Deep Ellum Food Truck Rally. We love new urbanism, as it gets people to see the value of more sustainable, non-car-centered-lifestyles (excuse the lazy multi-dash words today!) This event will be tomorrow, Friday April 13th fro 5-10pm. Hosted by the folks behind the Deep Ellum Outdoor Market, the food truck rally will have 9 DFW food trucks (including Vegan options!) and Live music on Main Street between Malcom X & Crowdus. Finally, if you're a fan of gardening the Deep Ellum Urban Gardens is holding its 2nd workday for the building of the community gardens there. See our story on the gardens here to learn more and come out this Sunday if you want to help out. Visit their invitation for more details on what you'll be doing and what you'll need to bring if you want to volunteer.
